From FM24 onwards the game gives you the choice of which game mode you would like to use when starting a new game.
The best game mode to pick is always Your World. The reason for this is twofold. Firstly it is far more realistic to start with the exact squad your starting team has on the the day you arrive at the club.
Whilst real world may seem like a tempting option the transfers made on future dates are likely to be a reaction to long term injuries and various other things.
Original mode will have the squads correct up to the release of the game - around the beginning of November - which is less realistic.
Quite literally an LLM game is your world and you will need to shape it as you see fit. Simply put the moment you walk through the door there will be the exact squad from that date and the decisions from then on in are all yours.
